The Professional 5 Plus has a powerful 450 watt motor that delivers enough power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily. This bowl lift model has brackets on the bowl that fit over support pins on the stand mixer, which is than lifted up by a handle on the right side of the mixer to lock the bowl in place while mixing (designed for handling heavy mixtures and large recipes). The dish washer safe, 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl with ergonomic handle is big enough to handle large batches of heavy mixtures. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable. 6 month manufacturer’s warranty.

1. The Photograph is a tilt head model, (probably the Artisan, which is smaller, less powerful and cheaper) not the Professional 5 Plus 5.
2. The description hops back and forth between the 450 watt motor Professional 5 Plus 5) and 475 watts (Professional HD model).
3. The HD is often substituted for the Pro 5 Plus 5, and the reason they shouldn’t do that is because the HD has a tall narrow bowl and the Pro 5 Plus 5 has the wide bowl. If you order the Pro 5 Plus 5 and buy yourself a pour shield, it won’t fit in the HD bowl. The HD is also an excellent machine, but it should be listed separately and sold separately. I have notified Amazon about this twice and they have ignored me.
Both machines are excellent, and they do look and perform like a brand new machine when they arrive.

I have enjoyed the factory reconditioned kitchen aid. I have put it to the test these past weeks to ensure it would stand up.
so far I have not had any problems from light mixing to bread making. I have waited along time to purchase and this was in my price range. I would do it again.

This mixer is the bomb! My wife and I have been looking at this KitchenAid model for a couple of years, and have come close to buying its smaller sibling, but held out for this model. When this Factory Refurb came up, I immediately jumped on it. What a deal! This mixer is truly a professional model, with enough power for really big jobs. And, when the FedEx man said he had delivered my mixer, and it wasn’t there, a new one was immediately dispatched. Great service and a great product. Thanks!
